Heartland Credit Union is proud to announce the promotion of Gleysha Mendez to the newly established position of Connections Manager. In this role, Gleysha will lead the Member Connection Specialists, a team dedicated to helping members understand their full financial picture and connecting them with the right financial tools to reach their goals.
As Connections Manager, Gleysha is responsible for coaching staff, overseeing retail lending and deposit operations, fostering a high-performing and positive work environment, and implementing processes to enhance the overall member experience.
Gleysha began her career at Heartland in 2013 as a Teller and has continued to grow through a variety of roles, including New Accounts Specialist, Member Solutions Specialist, Senior Member Solutions Specialist, and most recently, Senior Branch Manager at the 23rd and Severance branch in Hutchinson.

Beyond her work at Heartland, Gleysha is deeply invested in the Hutchinson community. She serves on the USD 308 Hutchinson Public Schools Board of Education and the Hutchinson Human Relations Commission. She was named a nominee for the Hutch Chamber Rising Star Award, participated as a panelist in the 2024 Hutch Chamber Women’s Conference, and is a graduate of Leadership Reno County. In 2023, she was honored as Heartland’s Culture Keeper for her outstanding contributions and her embodiment of the credit union’s core truths: Our Purpose is to Serve, We Value People, Community is at Our Core, We Embrace Change, and We Deliver Results.
